LOCATION SCOUTING

LOCATIONS, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION…
We bring Namibia to you.

Namibia is known for its dunes and desert locations but there is more to this fascinating country than meets the eyepiece…

Namibia’s Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world, stretching 161km long and 27km wide through the landscape, and over 15% (41510 sq. miles) of the country is dedicated to National Parks.
Some of the less known areas boast flood plains filled with wildlife, attracting filmmakers from all over the world. Namibia has a wide variety of different desert features, from red and yellow sand dunes to gravel plains and rocky and sandy landscapes that stretch on seemingly forever.

The desert can be treacherous and our Location Managers will take into account the feasibility of access by vehicles to the locations, as well as local conditions such as weather, tides and rainfall. We then provide you with a professional location presentation on PowerPoint, or on a shared access meeting room / website or hard copies… Namibia brought directly to you.

In all circumstances, NAMIB FILM tries to combine the Director’s vision with practical locations that will logistically benefit the production. The greatest benefit of sending a Namibian Scout to scout for Namibian locations is the huge saving in cost, and travel time is kept to a minimum. The Scout’s unbeatable local knowledge remains the biggest benefit and cannot be measured in any currency.

NAMIB FILM
provides a full Location Scouting Service at extremely competitive rates. Due to the vastness and sparseness of Namibia, a GPS is always used when scouting to ensure accurate location details. NAMIB FILM has built up a large database of reference pictures available at all times to our clients. Find more location pictures at: www.locamundo/freeportfolio/namibfilm

“ He was a real pleasure, a wonderful connoisseur of his country and every single set he showed me was a jewel”
(Pierre Magny – Canadian Director – on completion of his Namibian scout).
